[11C]MODAG-005 is an investigational positron emission tomography (PET) radioligand developed by MODAG GmbH for the imaging of pathological alpha-synuclein deposition in the brain. Alpha-synuclein aggregates are the primary pathological hallmark of synucleinopathies, including Parkinson's disease (PD) and multiple system atrophy (MSA). As a carbon-11 labeled tracer, [11C]MODAG-005 is designed to bind specifically to these aggregates, enabling non-invasive visualization and quantification of the protein's distribution and density. This imaging tool is intended to assist in the differential diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases and to serve as a biomarker for monitoring disease progression and the efficacy of alpha-synuclein-targeting therapies in clinical development.
